Tampa Pro Cancels Women’s Bodybuilding

In another example of how under appreciated women’s bodybuilding is, the 2009 Tampa Pro has cancelled the event. Blame the economy if you want (and the promoters of the show have said that purse money is an issue) but the fact of the matter remains that the women of iron have not received the respect that they deserve.
According to reports, they need a budget of $12,000 in order to bring it back in 2010.
Without the Tampa show, there are only two remaining contests to determine who has qualified for the Ms. Olympia, the New York and the Atlantic City Pro shows.
