To kick off the exciting new collaboration and start of the 2013 NFL season, a FitnessRx for Men September cover feature will include an exclusive interview with Sharpe, and a behind-the-scenes video will be featured on our website.

Welcoming Shannon Sharpe to our expert team is just one way FitnessRx for Men is rising to the next level in fitness media. We’re also excited that Shannon’s new column on Fitnessrxformen.com will coincide with the complete redesign of the website. The new website is easy to navigate and includes tons of new additions centered around the cutting-edge research and scientific approach to fitness you’ve come to expect from FitnessRx for Men.

Shannon Sharpe retired from the NFL in 2003 following an illustrious 14-year career with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens that included three Super Bowl championships. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and has been a studio analyst for CBS (the top television network) on “The NFL Today” since 2004.

“To me, physical health and wellness are absolute necessities,” says Sharpe. “I’m often asked why I still train the way I do; the answer is simple…what’s the alternative? I have remained focused on maintaining a healthy diet and sustaining a workout regimen since my playing days. It is rewarding for me to help others achieve like goals. FitnessRx For Men gives me just that; the opportunity to share what I have found successful in training and nutrition. I wanted to look like I could still play long after my playing days were over. Thanks to FitnessRX For Men…mission accomplished.”

Steve Blechman, President/CEO of Advanced Research Media added, “We are overjoyed to make this announcement. Shannon is an exceptional athlete with a tremendous mainstream following and will bring a totally new element to the table. Our publication will set the new standard in the industry with him now on board. His serious commitment to training, nutrition and fitness— which has grown even larger since his playing days ended— along with his master showmanship and popularity on CBS’ “The NFL Today” show, were important aspects for us in welcoming him as a spokesperson for our publication.”

Jamie Fritz, President of Fritz Martin Management, commented, “When you work with a client as knowledgeable as Shannon about health and fitness, you strive to find a platform that allows him to convey his methods and success to others. FitnessRx For Men provides a key demographic for Shannon to have a voice and influence fitness-minded consumers to set and achieve their goals. An industry publication for over a decade, the Fritz Martin Management team is thrilled to pair Shannon Sharpe with FitnessRx For Men.”
