It’s never too late to find the body of your dreams. Hard work, diet and dedication have gotten me there. I was always very thin all my life, however a few years ago I began suffering from extreme migraine headaches which made it almost impossible to exercise or even function at all. Needless to say the medications and lack of exercise left me out of shape and very disappointed with the way I was looking. Once I started exercising again nothing was happening.
While doing research on-line, I found pro figure competitor Jane Awad’s website. I contacted her wanting information about a diet and exercise program. She was wonderful. Within weeks of receiving her program I was seeing major changes in my body. Friends and family were noticing it, too. The more changes I saw, the more I became interested in this healthy life style.
I wanted to take my body even further. Unfortunately, Jane Awad does not live in New Jersey so I was unable to train with her at a local gym. My friend Fabian Orozco, a bodybuilding competitor himself, recommended that I take a ride to Body Works Hardcore in Paterson, NJ. It was there that I met the owner Mazen Ali and his team of professionals. The thought of competing on stage never crossed my mind until then. It was Mazen’s knowledge and encouragement that had given me the inspiration. I trained at Body Works for several weeks before entering the 2009 East Cost Bikini division where I took 1st place. Then I moved on to the Eastern USA bikini division and took 1st place again. It was so amazing and hard to believe.
I took some time off since the shows to train hard and sculpt my body. I am currently working with pro figure competitor Angela Mraz. She is such an inspiration to me. She helps to keep me motivated and focused. Angela is currently helping me with a diet and exercise program. I currently train five days a week and follow a very high protein diet. My goal is to put on a little more muscle while maintaining an overall feminine bikini body.
The hardest thing for me is finding enough hours in the day to do everything. I am a first grade teacher in NJ. I am also the owner of a wholesale/retail on-line pet boutique (www.platinumpuppycouture.com). My time is very limited, but I always find the time to train. It has become such an important part of my life. I love the way I feel and look. I now have a better body in my thirties than I ever had in my life. I hope to be competing in bikini again later this year.
