Helle Trevino – Diary of a Female Bodybuilder (Pt. 2)
- Updated: July 23, 2016

EDITOR’S NOTE: MuscleSport Magazine is honored to present to you the second installment of a series we will be running by IFBB pro Helle Trevino. The female bodybuilder is in contest prep mode for the Wings of Strength Rising Phoenix Women’s Bodybuilding World Championship that will take place on September 10 in Arizona.
Here’s my eight-week update: Time is really flying by now. This coming week, we’ll be going into the seventh week before the Rising Phoenix. The Lenda Murray Pro Am was last weekend and it was the second-to-last qualifier. Yaxeni Oriquen won and it was no surprise as she’s a former Arnold Classic and Ms. Olympia winner. Now it’s only the Tampa left, so by now I pretty much know who I’m going to compete against; it will be interesting for sure.
My own training is going well. I’ve had a couple of injuries that I’ve recovered from but nothing major. I’m hitting it hard at the gym on a three-day-on, one-day-off schedule, with cardio every day split into two sessions. I’m eating more food on this diet but also doing more cardio. It works for me and keeps my metabolism running faster.
I’m definitely growing into this show. In fact, I’m exactly the same weight as when I started my diet. My weight tends to stay around 180 pounds, so I’m just getting bigger and leaner. I’m pretty happy with my look so far and so is my coach Chris Aceto. Of course, I’m not there yet; there’s more work ahead. Someone once told me, “getting ready to compete is like landing a plane.” Very wise words. I’ve attached my favorite clip of Chris. I just love him. He’s keeping it real!
I’m snapchatting EVERY day – my workouts, meals, motivation and thoughts. Check them out if you want to follow what’s going on with me. You can rewatch all snap stories on my YouTube channel, as well. Everything goes up there. I think you might like it.
