Promoter and Master of Ceremonies will be Legendary Bodybuilder Bill Grant, Mr. America and Mr. World. Bill Grant appeared in the new release of “Pumping Iron” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and has also been featured in numerous movies, television shows and commercials.

The 6^th Annual NPC Bill Grant Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Classic will be held at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM.  It is part of the Lehigh Valley Sports Fest, a 4-day festival of sports that includes 50 athletic events and draws over 10,000 athletes and 150,000 spectators from around the globe. Last time around, Doug Beadle of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was named the Men’s Open Heavyweight and Overall Winner. The last time we saw him on stage, Beadle finished ninth in the Light Heavyweight division at the 2007 Atlantic States. Prior to that, he was victorious at the 2001 NPC Northeast and at the 2001 Junior USA Championships Beadle finished 11th.

By competing again at 38 and gaining another victory, Beadle proved that staying the course can pay dividends in the end.

In search of her pro card, Moyer went down to Atlanta in November and found the going tough. Competing in a field that included a much deeper and seasoned line-up, she did not place (sharing 16th with 13 other women) in the Figure D Class, which was won by Amy O’Neil.

Moyer has a long career ahead of her and just gaining the experience at the Nationals will assist her as she goes further. She has one NPC-sanctioned win under her belt and that is quite an accomplishment in itself. If she should successfully defend her crown on July 18 in Pennsylvania, that will be a huge boost and career move for Moyer.

Taylor Boyd looks like a mixture between a heel professional wrestler and the guy chasing teenagers through the woods in a slasher movie. The 6’3″, 300-pound New Jersey native put on a show with make-up and costume props. The NPC competitor has three contest wins so far in his young career, the last being the 2008 NPC New Jersey Suburban in the super heavyweight division.

It came as no surprise when Boyd said that his favorite body part to train were his 31-inch legs. “During them (leg workouts), you get so much overall muscle growth it’s incredible,” he said on his official website, www.taylorboyd.net. The mass monster further stated that he doesn’t change things up too much when it comes time to get ready for a show.

“My training style is heavy compound movements for offseason and contest prep.”

He does drop down to approximately 260 pounds for a competition, still nothing to sneeze at. In an era of bodybuilding where freaky size is the ‘in’ thing, Boyd fits the bill and surely made an impression in Pennsylvania last summer.
