So what does Turanabol have to offer that is so special?

Well it does provide good lean muscle gains and, although strength and muscle increases will not be as dramatic as with some other compounds, they will be less likely to be accompanied by water retention. One of the many interesting things about Turanabol is its ability to reduce SHBG’s binding to other steroids, which leads to the freeing up of more testosterone in the body. For this reason many athletes find it a valuable accompaniment to any cycle – particularly those involving the use of testosterone. All in all, when you consider the fact that it produces little in the way of troublesome side effects (when used in reasonable dosages) and produces a high quality gain in muscle mass over time, Turanabol is definitely worth considering as part of an effective cycle. Even used on its own it will definitely produce a noticeable improvement in mass and strength. Call it a knee-jerk reaction from the entire Mark McGwire/Andro fallout. Anything that can be perceived as more than a multi-vitamin will be scrutinized by a performance-enhancing drug paranoid Major League Baseball. The latest to take the fall are pitchers J.C. Romero and Sergio Mitre, who claimed to have taken nothing stronger than 6-OXO and Halodrol, respectively.

Maybe one or both of them did use something more than what they have claimed. That remains to be seen, especially if what triggered the positive tests can be the result of more than one substance. But on face value, MLB handing down two 50-game suspensions for what has been described as a “trace amount of a substance prohibited under Major League Baseball’s joint drug prevention and treatment program” smells of overkill.

Both supplements are legally sold over-the-counter in any health food store and have not even attracted much attention in the bodybuilding industry. Get one thing straight – the only substances that will work like steroids are steroids. All the supplements and shakes in the world may give you some energy and size, but to expect to look like Arnold after buying a box of one of these pills is pure fantasy.

If Romero and Mitre tried to do the right thing and use supplements to stay in shape and help them at the gym, then their suspensions are uncalled for. These products are not going to enhance one’s performance to the extent that anabolic steroids would. A level playing field is what baseball is looking for, but a good training regiment along with a proper diet and supplementation should be the minimum that a professional athlete does.

Keep in mind that because many of these products will give off a positive test similar to certain steroids, it is a built-in convenient excuse to blame them. If McGwire merely used a then-legal Andro (and it’s label stating that it will test positive for steroids), why did he clam up in front of Congress?

Now, having said all of the above, it has to be said that Primobolan does have its side effects including light acne, deepening voice and increased hair growth (these effects resulting form the androgenic residual effect). It is also worth pointing out that the bodies own testosterone production is only reduced when high dosages are taken for prolonged periods.

Speaking of dosages, the ‘safe’ dosage for men is 100-200mg per week although some bodybuilders have been known to go as high as 600mg/week (and even 800mg). Androgenic effects are inevitably higher at this rate but are usually tolerable. A better option is to stack Primobolan with stronger steroids in order to enhance the effect. Primo, Sustenon 250 and Dianabol is one such stack, which will produce rapid gains. Another example is Primo 200mg/week and Deca-Durabolin 200-400mg/week or Primo with Winstrol Depot 200-400mg/week. Although adding additional compounds can increase side effects, Primobolan does tend to lessen the harshness of the more heavy-duty steroids (e.g. all the testosterones) when added to a cycle.

Female athletes can get good results from 100-200mg a week and 50mg of Winstrol Depot can be added (although virilization problems may occur in sensitive individuals). A safer option would probably be 100mg Primobolan with 7.5mg Oxandrolone (or Winstrol oral, 10mg), which represents a cautious dose for those seeking to experiment with anabolics.
All in all, when you consider the fact that Primobolan is the only steroid that works on a low calorie diet, builds lean mass, adds hardness and tone AND positively effects the immune system it is easy to see why it is one of the most popular steroids on the market and has gained something of a ‘cult’ following over the years.
