Winstrol (Stanozolol) Profile

Published by Leigh Penman under Steroids

By Leigh Penman

This is part of a continuing series provided exclusively by MuscleSport Mag giving information on a variety of performance-enhancing drugs for educational purposes. While it is apparent that people are going to use these substances regardless of the health and legal risks involved, quality information is necessary and learning as much about them as possible can only assist an adult making a decision either way.

Winstrol is the ‘user friendly’ name given to the anabolic steroid Stanozolol. A derivative of dihydrotestosterone, Winstrol is a commonly used steroid for cutting cycles. Since it is not capable of converting into estrogen, gynecomastia is not a concern – even amongst the most sensitive individuals. It produces a lean, quality look with little or no water retention.
Winstrol is often seen as a less expensive alternative to Anavar since it produces similar gains in strength without significant weight gain. Continue Reading »

Testosterone Propionate Profile

Testosterone Propionate is the shortest estered, fastest acting form of testosterone currently available. Levels generally peak after 24-36 hours, however they soon begin to taper thereafter and the steroid itself only has a 2-3day life span. This can be a good thing for those susceptible to the side effects caused by longer acting testosterones (e.g. enthanate, cypionate, Sustanon 250) with Propionate causing less water retention and the user experiencing an increase in energy, a better muscle pump and an increase in strength and appetite after only one or two days. Muscular Development - 500 Word Article Submission (Oct.)

Voting Poll to be Open Soon for Next Winner

The monthly 500 Word Article Submission Contest on the Muscular Development website forums has already begun posting some of the entries, with the winner having his/her article published in the print magazine. Voting will begin shortly and go until November 12. Is this a shameless ploy to get some votes for my entry, “Over Time…” by MuscleSport Mag? You bet, it is! To get your by-line in MD should not be taken lightly, and I’m not doing so. If you have never been on the boards, then you’re doing yourself a disservice. MD is the top publication out there and their website is loaded with great material. The forums are legendary, especially the ‘No Bull’ section. Sign up, post and don’t forget to vote every month. Over Time…

Oh, there goes that damn alarm clock again. Let me just hit the ‘snooze’ button once or twice then I’ll drag myself out of bed. A quick something to eat and off to the gym. Then it’s another session that I can probably do in my sleep, and the way I feel today I may just be doing that. Have to wake myself up and by the time I finish my warm-ups, the blood has started pumping.

Now I’m beginning to remember why I have been doing this since high school. It’s been over 25 years since then and I’m still moving iron around as if I was getting paid overtime to do it.

And you know what, the reward from doing it all this time isn’t anything you can buy (well, maybe you can in some ways). While all those other lazy SOBs are shoving glazed donuts down their throats, I’m here playing those same songs over my iPod sweating bullets. Blasting my chest, blowing out my biceps, adding another two plates for the next set of squats. Continue Reading »

Thermogenesis….The First Chapter on Fat Loss

Since the premature demise of the popular ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin stack (due to the intervention of ‘the powers that be’) athletes have been delving into the world of over- the-counter fat burning/ energy enhancing supplements in the hope of finding a viable substitute. Having tried many of these products I can attest to the fact that they usually make you nauseous and jittery and exhibit little in the way of energy enhancing powers.
However, in an effort to find a supplement that actually works, I decided to road test a few of the products currently on the market. Some of them will be familiar to you and some of them you may never have heard of…until now. The first product on review probably falls under the latter category and it is…

THERMOGENESIS (Nature’s Lab)

I came across this product on the web and was curious to try it out. The formula claims to be a natural herbal equivalent of the previously mentioned ephedrine-caffeine-aspirin stack. Continue Reading »

Testosterone Cypionate Profile

While it is apparent that people are going to use these substances regardless of the health and legal risks involved, quality information is necessary and learning as much about them as possible can only assist an adult making a decision either way.

Testosterone Cypionate is a testosterone which has undergone 17 beta-estrification. Due to the length of its ester (8 carbons) it is stored mostly in adipose (fat) tissue upon intra-muscular injection from where it is released at a slow and steady rate. It peaks at 24-48 hours and then exhibits a slow and steady release over the course of 12 days. Although the compound stays in your system for up to three weeks, most athletes choose to inject it on a weekly basis.

Testosterone itself is a highly anabolic and androgenic hormone (rating 100 on each index). Its primary mode of action is to increase nitrogen retention in the muscle. It is also known to increase levels of growth factor IGF-1 in both muscle tissue and in the liver.
In addition to this, testosterone increases the activity of ’satellite cells’. These are cells which surround the muscle tissue and play an active role in repairing damaged muscle tissue and contribute to the growth of new muscle. Continue Reading »

Testosterone Enanthate Profile

While it is apparent that people are going to use these substances regardless of the health and legal risks involved, quality information is necessary and learning as much about them as possible can only assist an adult making a decision either way.

Testosterone Enanthate is an oil based injectable steroid, which is designed to slowly release testosterone from the injection site. This slow release delivery leads to an elevation in testosterone levels lasting for approximately two weeks (it may even take as long as three weeks for the drug levels to fully diminish). Due to its relatively long activity level, Testosterone Enanthate is favored by the medical profession and is primarily used to treat cases of hypogonadism and similar disorders where low androgen levels are at fault.
As with all testosterone products it has strong anabolic and androgenic activity. Gains in strength and muscle mass are notable, along with an increase in libido. It has also been noted that a relief in tendon pain and an increase in stamina are direct effects of testosterone administration. This is probably due to increased water retention coupled with an increase in red blood cells – leading to a greater oxygen uptake in the blood. Continue Reading »

Parabolan Profile

Published by Leigh Penman under Steroids

While it is apparent that people are going to use these substances regardless of the health and legal risks involved, quality information is necessary and learning as much about them as possible can only assist an adult making a decision either way.

Parabolan is a strong androgenic steroid which has no estrogenic activity at all and is reputed to be five times stronger than testosterone in terms of anabolic and androgenic activity. Also in its favor is its ability to bind fairly well to the androgen receptors which promotes the growth of muscle cells and the subsequent burning of fat cells. In addition, Parabolan also binds to the glucocorticoid receptors which leads to a reduction in catabolism. As if this weren’t enough, it is also considered to be a ‘nutrient partitioning agent’ which, put simply, means that it has the ability to convert more food into muscle and less into fat. This can lead to a visible increase in muscle hardness over the entire body in the course of several weeks. This makes it an excellent pre-contest steroid since it speeds up the metabolism and accelerates the fat burning process.

Another interesting observation about Parabolan is that bodybuilders who have used steroids for some time and who have reached a road block in their development suddenly make new progress whilst using this substance. Continue Reading »
