Female bodybuilding has been a niche sport that has a small but hardcore following. Less shows have included it in their schedule and even the line-ups at the larger ones have had fewer and fewer contestants. One of the newer division, Female Physique, is beginning to make some noise on the pro circuit, so is the handwriting on the wall?

Dayana Cadeau may be making the switch at the right time and announced it last month on her Facebook page:

“I would like to thank all my fans for their support for all these years of my bodybuilding career. This weekend was my last Olympia show as a bodybuilder. I’m gonna do Women’s Physique as an IFBB pro. Much better for me.”

Throughout her 16-year bodybuilding career, Cadeau has competed in numerous shows each year and was a regular at the Arnold Classic and Ms. Olympia. As recently as the last Arnold, she finished in the top 10, and was in the top six at the 2010 Olympia.

But now she is delving into a new class that people are still curious about. Physique is said to be in between bodybuilding and figure, so someone with as much muscle mass as Cadeau will have to a lot of modifications to her routine and diet in order to bring it down.

It remains to be seen the effect that WPD will have on the industry and if other female bodybuilders will follow Cadeau. And then there is the question of how many amateur competitors will go into physique instead of bodybuilding. These are all things that will play themselves out.

But for now, it will be very interesting to see the transformation of Dayana Cadeau.

No team ever won a trophy for leading their division wire to wire. As a matter of fact in today’s version of baseball, even getting into the playoffs as a Wild Card is enough to earn a championship if the team is hot at the right time. Such is the regular season for the National Pastime – qualify for the playoffs and make noise in October.

That may in fact be the case for the New York Yankees this season, but not a certainty. They have had some key players miss time with injuries, have not played their best baseball while their ace, CC Sabathia, has one win in his last six starts. Even with all of that, the Bronx Bombers find themselves trailing the division leading Rays by a mere two games.

Tampa Bay has begun to fade a bit after a fast start and is 4-6 in their last 10 games. With three strong teams in the American League East including Boston (third place, 3 1/2 games behind), the Wild Card will in all likelihood come from this group. When it is all said and done, put you money on the Yanks. They have the most experience and will make the necessary moves before the trading deadline to lock up the division.

The class of not only the ‘junior circuit’ but all of baseball, keep your dime on the Yankees to repeat as world champions. Still not convinced? Take a look at their rotation. The rest of the starters have picked up Sabathia and his 4.14 ERA, with A.J. Burnett (6-3, 3.72), Andy Pettitte (7-1, 2.47), Philip Hughes (7-1, 2.54) shouldering the load. Even Javier Vasquez has turned it around and has been very effective of late. Every team may be a little thin in middle relief, and the Yankees are no exception. But the other clubs don’t have Mariano Rivera to call on in the late innings. The ageless wonder has converted 12 of 13 saves and has an ERA under two.

Playoff time is synonymous with the Yankees, and that is a tough pill to swallow for their rivals. A steady club that can turn it on when needed, they will be hard to unseat.

Marihuana Arrest Comes at the Most Inopportune Time

<img src="http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1591/6874084/19763287/342415047.jpg" align="right"alt="" />

Let me clarify something first. There is no ‘right’ time to use marihuana. Adults can do what they please and all, but illegal drugs (especially ones that do not enhance your performance) such as that have no place in an athlete’s life. Certainly not one of the captains on a team that is fighting for a playoff spot, one that is having himself a creer year, no less.

Shaun Ellis is far from some teenager looking for a buzz on a Friday night. This is an NFL veteran who has been an integral part of the team and is needed at 100 percent. Getting pulled over at 8:30 in the morning with a stash of weed in your car is not what Jets head coach Eric Mangini expects from one of his leaders, but even he – one who runs a tight ship – decided to let this go without throwing down the hammer.

On the heels of the Plaxico Burress nonsense, could Mangini have felt that keeping this under the radar was the best alternative? The third-year coach admitted that he found out through a “third party” (something else that everyone should have a problem with) the night before the loss to Denver last Sunday, but decided to let Ellis play, which he will also do until further notice. He can still receive a suspension from the NFL for violating the substance policy, which he definitely should in this case.

Buy Steroids Online – http://www.steroid-club.com/Index.asp?RefId=39

From what Mangini has stated, the team has taken “internal disciplinary action” against Ellis, which one could surmise would be a fine. On how a potential suspension from the league may impact the team’s goals, Mangini was non-commital. “It’s not a function that’s anything under our control,” he said. “I respect the league and their stance on these issues.”

Losing Ellis for four games while the Jets make a run at the AFC East divisional title is going to have an impact. There is no way around that. He leads the team with 7 sacks through their first 11 games and has been such an important piece in the 3-4 defense that the team employs.

What he did and apparantly has been doing exposes him for the irresponsible person that he is. All the apologies and speeches to the coaching staff and team cannot take that away. Ellis is being counted on to come through every Sunday in a big way. Puffing on a joint or a bowl is not going to make that any easier.
