Dutrow a Late Scratch at Congress

Published by Joe Pietaro under Horse Racing

Big Brown’s Trainer Under the Weather, Will Miss Testifying

The star witness expected to headline Congress’ latest inquisition into drugs and sports will be a no-show. Rick Dutrow, Jr., the trainer of almost-Triple Crown winner Big Brown, had to pass up an opportunity to publicize himself again due to a virus.

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection will go on in their hearings on horse racing and what can be done to improve the ’sport of kings.’ Dutrow, who can be kindly described as the court jester, would have been asked a lot of questions, according to Rep. Ed Whitfield of Kentucky. Steroid use is just one of the many topics being investigated by the committee, and Dutrow’s comments concerning the use of winstrol would have surely come up. Gallaway’s “The Steroid Bible” - The Good Book with A Twist

Published by Joe Pietaro under MuscleSport Mag

A Bit Outdated, But Fairly Informative Until…

Good luck finding a new book that is up to date with anabolic steroids. Most of the staples are now considered ‘oldies,’ and have actually become collectibles for some. But for recent info on what is going on in ‘gear world,’ you have to come to websites like this one - I hope!

Steve Gallaway’s “The Steroid Bible” (Third Edition) is a spiral-bound book that is still available on www.AnabolicSteroids.com for $49.99, and that includes a report “Importing Drugs.” A bit pricey, as far as I am concerned, for a book that is from 1997 with a $24.95 cover price. Clemens Used Viagra, Known PCT

Published by Joe Pietaro under Baseball

The Rocket Killed Two Birds with One Stone with “Blue Magic”

A report in Tuesday’s New York Daily News brought Roger Clemens to the forefront once again, this time claiming that the star pitcher also used Viagra to enhance his performance on the baseball field. The Rocket is not the only major leaguer to have turned to the little blue diamonds for more reasons than erectile dysfunction.

According to Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, all of the big name athletes in his stable used a similar supplement. The News article quoted Conte as saying as such, and that he felt that it was a “bigger product in nutritional supplements than creatine.” Viagra, in addition to it’s intended results, will also help build endurance; deliver oxygen, nutrients and PEDs to muscles more efficiently; and combat the side effects of testosterone injections. Clemens was reportedly using Sustanon 250, an anabolic steroid that includes different forms of test, so this would seem to add up. Continue Reading »

Bonds Steroid Trial Date Set for March 2, 2009

Published by Joe Pietaro under Baseball

Unsigned Slugger Looks Finished with Stretched Out Court Calendar

Barry Bonds may have the all-time home run record and can probably still help a team or two out there with his power. But the 43 year-old free agent has probably played his last game due to the BALCO scandal and his upcoming trial, in which he is accused of lying to a grand jury and faces 14 counts of perjury and one of obstruction of justice.

Last week, Bonds led not guilty to the charges and was met outside the San Francisco courthouse by a large group of supporters. He was said to be in “good spirits” by his attorney Allen Ruby. If found guilty of all the charges, Bonds could face up to 80 years in prison and $500,000 in fines. That seems unlikely, though. Continue Reading »

A Cap on How Big ‘Big Brown’ Can Get

Published by Joe Pietaro under Steroids

Four’s the Limit for Thoroughbred Gear

An interesting story came over the AP wire recently, with the New York State Racing and Wagering Board passing a proposal “allowing one of four types of steroids at a time used on a horse,” which also had set concentration limits for the drugs.

Now the guidelines will have to be evaluated by David “Pat the Bat” Paterson, governor of New York State, then they are sent to the Department of State for more evaluation, which includes a 45-day public comment period. Continue Reading »

Ex-Juicers for Jesus?

MuscleMissions.org – More Cult Following Than Good Intentions

Happened upon this website and I’m still not sure of their entire agenda. From what I gather, they are a group of reformed steroid users who have “seen the light.” They now feel compelled to get the message out there that the entire sport of bodybuilding is a quagmire of sin.

They go pretty far with their message, even asking the question if the late Dan Duchaine (“The Steroid Guru” and author of the “Underground Steroid Handbook”) is burning in hell right now?

The article (http://www.musclemissions.org/public/99.cfm) states that Duchaine may be “paying” for his evil-doing with his soul possibly being tormented for eternity, and that the stroke that he suffered in the early 1990s may have been ‘heaven sent,’ if you know what I mean.
