Interview with Steroid User Gives Info from the Horse’s Mouth

This is Part One in a series of Q & A interviews by the staff of MuscleSport Mag with an anonymous anabolic steroid user. M.T., a 37 year-old male, recently completed a 12-week cycle of Deca-Durabolin (Nandrolone Decanoate), and decided to sit down with us and share his results. This is by no means a recommendation to use performance-enhancing drugs, merely for informational purposes.
MSM: When did you begin your Deca cycle?
MT: I started in January and finished up in April. One cc a week from a 300 mg bottle.
MSM: What type of gains did you experience?
MT: About 10 pounds. As far as size goes, I didn’t do measurements before hand. I know…how could I forget that? Things happen. Judging by looking, there was a difference, but without ‘before and after’ numbers, I won’t know exactly.
MSM: How about strength gains in the gym?
MT: This is where I know that the stuff had an effect on me. I was able to put up weight that I haven’t been able to handle in a long, long time. Bench went up approximately 60 pounds, squats nearly doubled. All the other exercises went up, too. Continue Reading »

Cycling Anti-Doping Police Continue to Come Down on Steroids with Help from the Real Police

Manuel Beltran of Spain not only has been disqualified from the Tour de France, he was physically removed by French police after testing positive for EPO, a performance-enhancing drug used for energy, endurance and recovery. Although unconfirmed, it was also said that there was a raid conducted by local authorities where Beltran and his teammates were staying.
The positive test was conducted following the first stage of the bicycle race, back on July 5. Pierre Bordry, the leader of the French anti-doping agency, told reporters “there are not just traces of EPO, there is EPO.” Continue Reading »

Doping Appeal Denied; ‘06 Tour de France Title Lost
Adding insult to injury, the Court of Arbitration for Sport handed down a tough decision on Floyd Landis and literally made him pay. After being denied his appeal, the cyclist was roundly criticized in the decision and ordered to hand over $100,000 towards the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency legal fees.
This is the second setback for Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France championship after testing positive for testosterone. All told, he has spent more than $2 million of his own and fundraiser’s money on his appeals, all for naught. When you look into this case further, it is apparent that Landis never had a prayer and looks like an anti-doping punching bag. Continue Reading »

Homeopath-et-ic Growth Hormone May Be Legal, But Don’t Expect Much
You get what you pay for. That’s the old saying, right? So, when it comes to the supplement/performance enhancing-drug debate, you can figure that anything without a high price tag is not going to give you the results that you want. Especially when it comes to HGH.
If you don’t have to inject it, the product may have the best intentions, but it is pretty obvious that a nasal spray of this kind will have much less of a ‘kick.’ The biggest difference is that the real stuff (commonly Somatropin) is the hormone, and the others are geared towards upping your natural growth hormone production.

Four’s the Limit for Thoroughbred Gear

An interesting story came over the AP wire recently, with the New York State Racing and Wagering Board passing a proposal “allowing one of four types of steroids at a time used on a horse,” which also had set concentration limits for the drugs.
Now the guidelines will have to be evaluated by David “Pat the Bat” Paterson, governor of New York State, then they are sent to the Department of State for more evaluation, which includes a 45-day public comment period. Continue Reading »
