Mr. & Mrs. Jones Beach USA Judges Panel

Besides all of the action on the stage at the second annual Mr. & Mrs. Jones Beach USA contest on Sunday, August 9, there will be an All-Star assembly at the judge’s table. Names from the bodybuilding and entertainment world will adorn the front row and use their expertise to decide who will be crowned champion this year.

The head judge will be none other than Steve Michalik, who also is promoting the contest along with the great Dan Lurie. The others will be:

Steve Michalik – 60 years young. Married with four children: Steve Jr. (31 – married with 1yr old daughter – Gianna), Molli – 8, Mac – 5, and Jordan – 19. Steve is an accomplished artist, author and lecturer. He is currently writing his third book and autobiography. Steve is also an active anti-steroid advocate and is constantly sought after to discuss this on television, radio and lecture circuits. His contest victories include: 1975 Mr Universe NABBA, 1972 Mr America AAU, 1971 Mr USA AAU, 1971 Mr. Apollo AAU, WBBG Hall of Fame.
Joe Reaiche – 50 years young, Joe is a former Professional Rugby League Player from Sydney Australia. Joe’s family are all celebrity actors in Hollywood. His son is Jordan Reaiche Masterson (40 Year old Virgin); and his daughter Alanna Reaiche Masterson (Alanna’s Guide to Greek) and has 2 step sons to Danny Masterson (That 70’s Show ) and Chris Masterson (Malcolm in the Middle). Joe’s sporting accomplishments include Professional Rugby League Teams Sydney City Roosters; Canterbury Bulldogs and the South Sydney Rabbitohs; College: MVP Campbelltown National League Championship; MVP and Captain Lewisham College State Champions; Coach of the National Champion’s Cronulla Sutherland Woman’s Touch Football; and Olympic trainer to the Switzerland 100M 200M and 400M Track athletes for the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics.

Lidia Szczepanowski-Goldsmith ESQ. – Mrs. New York State 2007, Mrs. New York International 09′ and was Mrs. New York America 06′ – A Mother of three, wife, multi-sport athlete, an avid fisherman, boater, speaker and writer, Lidia is Senior Attorney for Thaler & Gertler, LLC. specializing in Corporate and Commercial Litigation. Steve Pecora – 2008 Mr Jones Beach USA – Steve started competing at age 22 and has been training for over 25 years.  He has won numerous titles including the Long Island Championship, Empire States championship, as well as the New York City and Tri-State championships.  He continued to train during a 10 year layoff to raise a wonderful family, and make his return to the stage in 2008, sweeping 1st place in the Open and Masters classes, and winning Overall title at the Empire States.  He continued to take 1st place in the Light Heavyweight class at the Atlantic City Pro/Am Championship.  Currently Steve works as a personal trainer and is preparing for the Atlantic States and the Masters National.  We welcome back to our judges panel our inagural Mr. Jones Beach!
Since the 2008 Jones Beach show, Steve won the Atlantic City Pro/Am Lt Hvwt class, and he won Bev Francis Atlantic States Masters 45+ class. Steve will be competing in the Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh, PA, hoping to earn his pro card. Picture is from the Atlantic States show.

George Smalley, “MR G” – Top national competitive bodybuilder, motivational speaker, and owner of Bodies By Mr. G.  For over thirty years, George has had the pleasure of changing peoples’ lives, motivating clients to lose weight, get in shape, take charge of their workouts, and their fate!  Highly recognizable as a national fitness expert in the industry, George has appeared on numerous talk shows such as the Rosie O’Donnell Show, The Howard Stern’s show, No Bull Radio and Heavy Muscle Radio.  He is A frequent contributor in the MHP Body Transformation Challenge, and has served as Master of Ceremonies for the Muscular Development Arnold Classic Booth.  A top national bodybuilding competitor and motivator, he as appeared in Muscular Development, Fitness Rx for Women, Fitness Rx for Men, and Muscle Magazine.

Gary Yander – 39 years old and a father of two wonderful children, Gary Jr who is 6, and daughter Emily who is a year old. Known for his insane conditioning and thickness, Gary has been competing for 10 years, and has won several bodybuilding shows including the overall title at the 2001 Physique show, the overall title at the 2002 Grand Prix, as well as the Light Heavyweight class at the 2004 Garden State garden. Gary is a big fan of the discipline and commitment it takes to be a champion in this sport and we are honored for him to be on our 2009 panel.

    Will there be a Mr. $ Mrs. Jones Beach USA in 2010? If so, when will it be and how do you register?

    We have not heard anything about a 2010 contest and their website has been down for a while. This was a great event and hopefully will continue.
