2012 IFBB British Grand Prix Preview, Full Line-Up Cards
- Updated: October 13, 2012
The Olympia may be behind us, but the IFBB pro bodybuilding season is far from over. One of the more prominent shows on the calendar that takes place outside of the United States is coming up and there are a plethora of top competitors looking to either continue a great year or make a name for themselves with a victory in England on October 21.
In the men’s open bodybuilding category, Shawn Rhoden’s name jumps off the page when you take a look at the official line-up card. Flexatron already has three wins in 2012 to go along with a top-three Olympia placing, so it seems as if he is the one to beat if he can maintain the same conditioning he had a week prior at the Arnold Classic Europe in Spain.
Johnnie O. Jackson has not had the same success as Rhoden, but has enjoyed a good year and is a wily veteran who has competed here before. Of course the same can be said of Toney Freeman, who at 46, will be the oldest man on the stage again. Also keep your eye on Ronny Rockel, who has not had the type of year he is used to but can make ammends with a high placing.
In the 212, James “Flex” Lewis will be the favorite and the Olympia Showdown winner will have to stave off a good challenge from both Eduardo Correa and Jose Raymond. Looking for a wildcard? Look no further than Sami Alhaddad.
