Wolf Edges Rhoden for 2014 Arnold Classic Win, Kaltwasser Takes Bikini International
- Updated: March 2, 2014
Since his runner-up placing at the Arnold Classic two years ago, Dennis Wolf undoubtedly had that near miss on his mind. He needed to return to Columbus and take the top spot after that oh-so-close loss to the then-reigning champion Branch Warren. Wolf didn’t compete here last March but made a statement by coming out on top against an extremely deep line-up that included Shawn Rhoden, Cedric McMillan, Victor Martinez, Evan Centopani and the aforementioned Warren.
From the prejudging, it was apparent that it would be a two-man show for the $130,000 winner’s check with Wolf and Rhoden being compared throughout. It certainly could have went either way and it was that close, with many saying that the mass that Wolf had over Rhoden was more than the conditioning and aesthetics that the latter brought to the table.
McMillan jumped to third from sixth in 2013 and Martinez placed a very respectable fourth.
In the Bikini International, Ashley Kaltwasser followed up her Olympia win with a big one in Ohio. She was able to keep a very top-heavy line-up at bay that included Yeshaira Robles (second), Amanda Latona (third), Nathalia Melo (fourth), Stacey Alexander (fifth) and India Paulino (sixth).
