We had made this prediction even before Shawn Rhoden was declared ineligible to compete in the Olympia and we feel even stronger about it now under the current circumstances. The IFBB needs to put a new face out there to be the sport’s ambassador, one who is a fan favorite and has some character and pizzazz. Winklaar won the People’s Champion in it’s inaugural 2018 run and has freaky size, but has the ability to pull his waist in enough to win against top competitors. Phil Heath was not well liked and Rhoden’s legal issues – if he’s found guilty or not – have made him ‘persona non grata’ to AMI.
