2019 Olympia Recap
- Updated: September 16, 2019
It was deemed a wide open race for the Sandow in the weeks leading up to the show date and the 2019 Mr. Olympia certainly did not disappoint. With the absence of Shawn Rhoden, Phil Heath and Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay, there were a number of names being bantered about as potential winners… and one of them did not disappoint.
When he was nicknamed “The Prodigy,” Brandon Curry was said to have a very bright future as a bodybuilder and an-already successful career has now been capitulated to an entirely different level when he prevailed to become the new champion of the sport’s biggest prize.
Once becoming part of the Oxygen Gym “Camel Crew” in Kuwait, Curry added quality size to a physique that was already impressive and was able to hold off tough challengers in runner-up William Bonac, People’s Champion Hadi Choopan, the wily veteran and former Olympia winner Dexter Jackson and Roelly Winklaar (who was our predicted winner in a preview article).
THANKS AGAIN TO TITAN MEDICAL CENTER FOR BEING THE TITLE SPONSOR OF OUR OLYMPIA COVERAGE.
