SARMs: What Does The Research Say About These New Wonder Drugs?

Everyone wants to build more muscle. Whether you’re a skinny guy in high school who wants to get big for the football team, or a busy executive who has let his health go, we all want it.

To make matters worse, some people are what’s known as a “hardgainer.” This is someone who has a hard time putting on muscle, due to a fast metabolism.

If this is you, then read this article, because we’re going to be talking about SARMs, which are a breakthrough in muscle-building science, and how they can help you get jacked.

What Are SARMs?

SARMs, short for selective androgen receptor modulators, are a new class of research chemicals which are being used to transform skinny dudes into beasts.

This may sound like fiction, but there’s a ton of research to suggest that SARMs not only work quite well, but actually have very few side effects.

SARMs work by binding to androgen receptors, and have a high affinity for skeletal muscles, rather than organ muscles. In layman’s terms, this means you get very few side effects.

Steroids typically have a ton of side effects, like low testosterone, gynecomastia, roid rage, and back acne, among others. SARMs however, have been shown to have far less side effects.

Just how does this work, though, and how can we be sure it’s true? Well, let’s take a look at what some clinical studies have found regarding SARMs.

The Science of SARMs

There’s many different SARMs, ranging from Ostarine to RAD 140 and others, but much research has been done on them as a whole, and it looks promising.

Take a look at one study, for example, conducted by the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition at Boston Medical Center. Here’s what they found:

“LGD-4033 was safe, had favorable pharmacokinetic profile, and increased lean body mass even during this short period without change in prostate-specific antigen. Longer randomized trials should evaluate its efficacy in improving physical function and health outcomes in select populations.”

In other words, not only was LGD-4033 (or Ligandrol) very effective for improving “physical function” and “health outcomes,” but it was also very low in side effects.

Another meta-study, which analyzed numerous different research papers regarding SARMs like Ostarine, Ligandrol, Testolone, and more, stated the following:

“SARMs hold considerable promise as a new class of function promoting anabolic therapies for a variety of clinical indications, such as frailty, functional limitations associated with aging and chronic illnesses, cancer cachexia, and osteoporosis. Although the preclinical data look promising, the efficacy trials of SARMs are just beginning. Further research is needed to elucidate the molecular basis of tissue selectivity, and to achieve greater potency and tissue selectivity.”

Everywhere you look, the research seems to confirm the fact that not only are SARMs highly safe, but also highly effective. Let’s take a look at some more SARMs studies.

One study, conducted by GTx Pharmaceuticals, found that a specific SARM known as Ostarine, or Enobosarm, was highly effective at increasing muscle mass:

“GTx-024 showed a dose-dependent improvement in total lean body mass and physical function and was well tolerated. GTx-024 may be useful in the prevention and/or treatment of muscle wasting associated with cancer and other chronic diseases.”

While SARMs were originally created to help combat muscle-wasting in cancer patients, it didn’t take long for bodybuilders to catch onto their awesome effects.

In fact, many bodybuilders such as Gregg Valentino have suggested that they may be on SARMs, in addition to a conventional testosterone enanthate cycle.

SARMs Results

Now that we’ve established that not only are SARMs highly safe, but also highly effective, just what kind of results can users expect to get from using SARMs?

Well, for starters, it depends on the type of SARM you’re using. Many different SARMs, ranging from Ostarine to RAD 140, have a lot of different benefits and focuses.

In on user’s SARMs before and after results article, for example, he explained that he gained 18 pounds of muscle and lost 7 pounds of fat on his Ostarine, Cardarine, and Ligandrol cycle.

Other users claim to lose or gain even more weight, especially if they do what’s called a SARMs stack. This is where you combine different SARMs to get more benefits.

Users may, for example, stack Ostarine with RAD 140, if they want to focus on building lean, dense muscle, and drastically increasing strength.

If they’re more focused on losing weight, they may end up taking Cardarine for the endurance boost, and Ligandrol (LGD-4033) for some added fat loss benefit.

The results you get from SARMs depend a lot on your training routine, SARMs dosage, diet, and individual biology, but it’s safe to say that they’ll give you incredible results.

SARMs: The Bottom Line

All in all, SARMs are a fascinating new discovery that have been proven very safe, and extremely effective at helping users build lean muscle mass very quickly.

There is a plethora of research suggesting that they have far less side effects than steroids, and some SARMs, when taken in a stack, may even be comparable to steroids.

While more long-term research needs to be done on SARMs, there’s no question about it – they work, and they work fast. So, if you’re trying to bulk up, you may want to consider SARMs.
