Yankees Sign RHP Tony Zych
- Updated: February 15, 2020

The Yankees today announced they have signed RHP Tony Zych to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League spring training. Zych will wear #62.
Zych, 29, underwent Thoracic outlet surgery in November 2018 and has not pitched professionally since 2017. In 70 career Major League appearances (one start) with Seattle from 2015-17, has gone 7-3 with one save, a 2.72 ERA (72.2IP, 22ER) and 80K. He has made 190 career minor league appearances (three starts), going 15-16 with a 3.73 ERA (234.1IP, 97ER) in the Cubs and Mariners organizations. The Hazel Crest, Ill., native was selected by Chicago-NL in the fourth round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. Elias confirms that Zych is alphabetically last among players ever to have appeared in a Major League game.
