Former Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger to Play in TSL Las Vegas
- Updated: February 23, 2020

Quarterback Zach Mettenberger has re-signed with The Spring League and will be under center in Las Vegas. The former Tennessee Titans starter played at The Spring League 2018 in Austin. The LSU alum was drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Titans and started six games as a rookie before going down with a shoulder injury. The next season, Mettenberger had seven appearances (four starts) before being released in the spring.
The San Diego Chargers claimed him but he was cut after the preseason, only to be picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mettenberger was active for eight games in two seasons without seeing any playing time before being let go for the third time.
He played in The Spring League in 2018 and was subsequently drafted by the Memphis Express of the new Alliance of American Football league. He played in four games (three starts) before an injury sidelined him. That didn’t matter much, as the AAF ceased operations a month later.
Mettenberger, 28, was not drafted nor signed by any team in the XFL and now finds himself back in The Spring League looking for what is perhaps his last opportunity to catch on with a team somewhere.
