The XFL has retained veteran sports journalist Bonnie Bernstein and Bernstein’s Walk Swiftly Productions to create a season-long digital content series entitled “For the Love of Football,” debuting today here.

The series embodies everything that is the XFL: the passion of its fans, the personal stories behind what fuels its players, the strong football cultures in team markets and the unique elements that make the XFL a fan-first league.

With new episodes dropping throughout the season, Executive Producer and Host, Bernstein, takes XFL fans on a behind-the-scenes journey, pulling the curtain back on its teams, its players, the league’s home cities and the rules innovations that drive the XFL’s mission of providing more action, more access and more fun. Fred Harner, XFL Senior Vice President of Content and Media, and Jeffrey Pollack, XFL President and COO serve as Executive Producers with Bernstein.

“There are so many great stories to tell about our teams, our players, and our fans, and this new series will provide unique perspectives on how the XFL is coming to life,” said Harner. “We are excited to partner with Bonnie to embark on this journey and take audiences behind-the-scenes to showcase what it means to play, coach, and cheer, all ‘For the Love of Football.’”

In Episode One, “Coming Home,” Bernstein visits St. Louis to paint an intimate portrait of a city exuberant about the return of pro football. Through the eyes of some of the city’s most passionate fans and influencers, viewers will hear first hand about the healing power of sports in the aftermath of challenging times for the city and its residents.

XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck and Pollack shed light on the decision to bring a St. Louis team to life, and Gateway City native and BattleHawks president, Kurt Hunzeker, lends his very personal perspective to the franchise’s early success.

“For the Love of Football” episodes will be available throughout the XFL season on XFL.com and the league’s YouTube and social channels, with condensed versions airing within XFL pregame shows.
