Yankees Invite INF/OF Marwin Gonzalez To Spring Training

The Yankees invited INF/OF Marwin Gonzalez (No. 14) to Major League spring training.
Gonzalez, 33, has batted .256 (854-for-3,342) with 400R, 176 doubles, 8 triples, 101HR, 397RBI and 247BB in 1,053 games over parts of 10 Major League seasons with the Houston Astros (2012-18, ‘21), Minnesota Twins (2019-20) and Boston Red Sox (2021). In 2021, the switch-hitter batted .199 (55-for-276) with 30R, 14 doubles, 5HR, 28RBI and 20BB in 91 combined games between the Red Sox and Astros. The Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, native has appeared defensively at shortstop (304G/259GS), first base (243G/173GS), left field (187G/151GS), second base (172G/118GS), third base (167G/126GS) and right field (58G/44GS) in his career.
The Yankees now have 18 non-roster invitees, including six pitchers (one left-hander, five right-handers), four catchers, four infielders and four outfielders.
