Yankees Sign RHP Shelby Miller

The Yankees have signed RHP Shelby Miller to a minor league contract and invited him to Major League spring training.

 

Miller, 31, has gone 38-57 with a 4.19 ERA (771.0IP, 749H, 389R/359ER, 309BB, 630K, 86HR) in 163 games (132 starts) over parts of nine Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2012-14), Atlanta Braves (2015), Arizona Diamondbacks (2016-18), Texas Rangers (2019), Chicago Cubs (2021) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2021)…the 2015 NL All-Star split the 2021 season between the Cubs and Pirates, going 0-1 with a 9.24 ERA (12.2IP, 16H, 13ER, 11BB, 8K, 3HR) over 13 relief outings…the Houston, Tex., native was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the first round (19th overall) of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

 

The Yankees now have 19 non-roster invitees, including seven pitchers (one left-hander, six right-handers), four catchers, four infielders and four outfielders.
