Yankees Acquire Jake Bauers From Reds

The Yankees have acquired INF/OF Jake Bauers from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations.
Bauers, 26, has batted .213 (208-for-977) with 121R, 45 doubles, 3 triples, 27HR, 110RBI, 129BB and 15SB in 328 Major League games over parts of three seasons with Tampa Bay (2018), Cleveland (2019, ’21) and Seattle (2021). In 29 games this season with Triple-A Louisville in the Reds organization, he has hit .135 (13-for-96) with 7R, 4 doubles, 3HR, 12RBI, 19BB and 4SB. The left-handed batter was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract on December 22, 2021. He was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the seventh round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Marina High School (Calif.).
Bauers was assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
