- Updated: December 5, 2022
The Yankees have added RHP Jimmy Cordero to the Major League roster.
Cordero, 31, did not pitch in the Majors in 2022 and went 1-1 with six saves and a 2.09 ERA (38.2IP, 25H, 12R/9ER, 13BB, 50K, 2HR) over 32 relief appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In three Major League seasons (2018-20), he has gone 3-5 with a 4.55 ERA (83.0IP, 82H, 46R/42ER, 32BB, 65K, 8HR) in 83 relief appearances with the Washington Nationals (2018), Toronto Blue Jays (2019) and Chicago White Sox (2019-20). The San Cristóbal, D.R., native was originally signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as a non-drafted free agent on January 6, 2012. He was signed by the Yankees to a minor league contract on December 15, 2021 and attended 2022 spring training as a non-roster invitee.
