Hall of Fame to Hold Transpacific Baseball Exhibit Press Conference on Sunday, April 21 at Yankee Stadium

WHAT:

Discussion of planned Hall of Fame exhibit about transpacific exchange of baseball between the U.S. and Japan.

WHEN/WHERE:

Sunday, April 21, at 10:45 a.m. in the Yankee Stadium Press Conference Room.

Media should enter via the Press Gate on E. 161st Street to the right of Gate 4.

ARTIFACTS ON DISPLAY:

The National Baseball Hall of Fame will present select artifacts from its Museum collection at the event, including:

  • Cincinnati Reds cap worn by George Foster during the team’s 1978 tour of Japan.
  • New York Yankees jersey worn by Hideki Matsui during an exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants on March 28, 2004, in which he hit a home run.
  • Glove used by Masanori Murakami during his 1964 and 1965 seasons with the San Francisco Giants.
  • Ball thrown by Hideo Nomo during a no-hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sept. 17, 1996.
  • L.A. Dodgers jersey worn by Shohei Ohtani during part of the team’s first homestand of the 2024 season.
  • Shoes worn by Ichiro Suzuki on Oct. 3, 2004, when he recorded his 261st and 262nd hits of the season with the Seattle Mariners, setting a new single-season MLB record.
  • A batting helmet worn by Ichiro Suzuki during the 2012 season from the Yankees Museum collection will also be on display at the event.
