On Thurs., Nov. 14, the Tampa Bay Rays announced that the team will play the 2025 Major League Baseball season at George M. Steinbrenner (GMS) Field in Tampa — the spring training home of the New York Yankees. Because of significant damage incurred on Oct. 9 during Hurricane Milton to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, the Rays’ regular season home will not be available for the regular season.
The Yankees will continue to play spring training games at Steinbrenner Field in 2025 and will utilize the full complex, including training areas and the adjacent fields. The Rays will continue to use Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Fla., for their spring workouts and games.
The Rays will move in after the Yankees complete their home spring training schedule and will stay through the end of the 2025 season.
