Yankees Home Opener to Feature Patriotic Ceremony, Special Guests and Fan Promotions
The New York Yankees will celebrate their 2026 home opener with a series of special ceremonies, guest appearances and fan-focused promotions at Yankee Stadium.
For the fifth consecutive home opener, a giant American flag will be unfurled on the field by Yankees season-ticket holders prior to the national anthem. The anthem will be performed by Nikki M. James, while the presentation of colors will be conducted by the U.S. Army West Point Honor Guard.
Olympic Heroes and Military Honors Highlight Pregame Festivities
Team USA Olympic hockey stars will take part in ceremonial first pitches, including Jack Hughes, known for his overtime gold medal-winning goal, and Aerin Frankel, a gold medal-winning goaltender.
During the seventh-inning stretch, Carla Loy Song will perform “God Bless America,” while the Yankees will recognize Mayra Winnie as the game’s “Veteran of the Game.” Winnie, a native of Albany, New York, has served on active duty since 2005 and has participated in multiple operations, including Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom Sentinel.
Historic Matchup and Strong Home Opener Record
The Yankees will face the Miami Marlins in a home opener matchup for the first time in franchise history. It also marks the second consecutive season—and third time overall—that the Yankees open their home schedule against a National League opponent.
The Yankees hold an impressive 82-40-1 all-time record in home openers, including victories in seven of their last nine dating back to 2017.
$50,000 Guaranteed 50/50 Raffle for Opening Day
To kick off the 2026 season, the Yankees Foundation will host a 50/50 Raffle with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of $50,000 for Opening Day.
Fans can purchase raffle tickets online throughout New York State or in person at Yankee Stadium. One lucky winner will receive half of the net proceeds, while the remaining funds will support New York Yankees Foundation programs and other nonprofit organizations. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize.

The Yankees’ opening homestand continues:
- Saturday, April 4 (7:05 p.m.) vs. Miami
- Sunday, April 5 (1:35 p.m.) vs. Miami
- April 7–9 vs. the Athletics
Fans attending the April 4 game will receive a 2026 Yankees Calendar (first 40,000 guests), courtesy of Mastercard.
Gates for the remaining games of the homestand will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.
