American Soccer Club New York Re-Signs Goalkeeper Andrew Lowenhar for 2026 Season

American Soccer Club New York has announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Andrew Lowenhar to a one-year deal for the 2026 National Premier Soccer League season.

The Long Island native returns to the Fighting Tomcats after gaining valuable experience during the 2025 campaign. Lowenhar is currently a freshman at Connecticut College.

Lowenhar Returns with High Expectations for 2026

“I’m really excited to be back with ASC New York,” said Lowenhar. “We have a strong group this year, and I expect us to be a much more improved side and compete for trophies.”

Strong Development Path on Long Island

Before joining ASC New York, Lowenhar developed his game with Huntington Inter FC and the SUSA Academy on Long Island. He also competed in the Olympic Development Program (ODP), where he captained the East Region team and earned selection to the ODP National Team that competed internationally in Costa Rica.

Coaching Staff Praises Growth and Work Ethic

Head coach John Fitzgerald highlighted Lowenhar’s progression since joining the club.

“Andrew came in as a young goalkeeper and showed immediate improvement through his work ethic and mentality,” Fitzgerald said. “Now with college experience, he’ll return ready to compete and push the group forward.”

Leadership and Experience Between the Posts

The 6-foot-2 goalkeeper was a four-year starter at Harborfields High School and served as a three-year team captain, bringing both leadership and consistency to the position.

“I’ve been impressed with the culture here,” Lowenhar added. “The professionalism and support from the staff make it a great environment to grow as a player.”

ASC New York Prepares for 2026 Season

American Soccer Club New York will continue to announce additional signings and partnerships in the coming weeks as the club builds toward the new season.

The Fighting Tomcats open their 2026 NPSL campaign on May 2 against the New York Shockers at Mitchel Athletic Complex.
