UFL Announces Washington, D.C. as Host of 2026 United Bowl
The United Football League has announced that Audi Field will host the 2026 United Bowl, the league’s championship game, on Saturday, June 13 at 3:00 p.m. ET, airing nationally on ABC.
The announcement was made by UFL Co-Owner Mike Repole and UFL President & CEO Russ Brandon.
UFL Championship Heads to Nation’s Capital
The 2026 season marks the debut of the “United Bowl” as the official name of the league’s championship game, reflecting the UFL’s mission to unite players, fans, and communities through football.
“Washington, D.C. is built for big moments—and the 2026 United Bowl will be exactly that,” Repole said. “Audi Field will deliver a championship atmosphere worthy of the stage.”
Audi Field and DC Defenders Bring Championship Energy
Audi Field, home of the defending champion DC Defenders, has become one of the most electric venues in spring football.
Since 2020, Defenders fans have built a reputation as one of the league’s most passionate fanbases, highlighted by the nationally recognized “Beer Snake” tradition, where fans stack cups into a massive in-stadium display.
“Bringing the United Bowl to Washington, D.C. is a powerful moment for our league,” Brandon said. “There is no better stage than the nation’s capital to showcase the energy and passion of football.”
D.C. Welcomes Championship Event
Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser praised the announcement, calling it a major event for the city.
“Hosting the 2026 United Bowl is a fitting celebration as we mark 250 years of American history,” Bowser said. “We look forward to welcoming fans from across the country.”
Looking Back at 2025 Championship
The DC Defenders captured the 2025 UFL Championship with a 58–34 victory over the Michigan Panthers, led by quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, who earned MVP honors with 390 passing yards and four touchdowns.
