Louisville Kings Kicker Tanner Brown Named 2026 UFL Special Teams Player of the Year
The United Football League has announced that Louisville Kings kicker Tanner Brown has been named the 2026 UFL Special Teams Player of the Year following a remarkable regular season that established him as one of the league’s most consistent and productive performers.
The award was selected by a panel of media members, broadcast partners, coaches, and football personnel from all eight UFL teams. Voting was based on player performance throughout the recently completed 10-game regular season.
“This honor is incredibly well deserved, and Tanner has earned every bit of it,” said Louisville Kings Head Coach Chris Redman. “He is a shining example of the opportunities our league provides for dedicated athletes. While he may have been overlooked in the past, that is certainly no longer the case. Don’t be surprised if you see him playing on Sundays in the near future. Tanner is an exceptional young man whose character, work ethic, and talent set him apart, and he has a very bright future ahead of him.”
Brown enjoyed a record-setting season for Louisville, converting 25 of 28 field goal attempts for an impressive 89.3 percent success rate while leading the UFL in field goals made.
The standout kicker also paced the league in scoring with 99 total points, connecting on 25 field goals and adding 23 extra points during the regular season.
One of Brown’s signature moments came in Week 8 against the DC Defenders when he drilled a 60-yard field goal, one of the longest and most memorable kicks of the season.
His excellence throughout the year earned him UFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors twice, further highlighting his importance to the Kings’ success.
Brown also handled kickoff duties for Louisville, recording 62 kickoffs for 3,866 yards. He averaged 62.4 yards per kickoff while posting a net average of 36.7 yards and registering three touchbacks.
Although postseason performances were not considered in the voting, Brown continued his impressive campaign during Louisville’s playoff matchup against the St. Louis Battlehawks. He connected on two four-point field goals, including a 63-yard kick that stood as the longest made field goal of the season.
Brown will be formally recognized during the UFL Awards presented by Dynasty Financial Partners on June 12 as part of United Bowl week festivities.
The 2026 United Bowl will be played on Saturday, June 13, at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET and national television coverage on ABC.
