UFL Announces Finalists for 2026 Most Valuable Player Award
The United Football League has unveiled the four finalists for the 2026 UFL Most Valuable Player Award, recognizing the league’s most impactful players during the regular season.
The finalists include Cam Gill of the Louisville Kings, Jack Plummer of the Orlando Storm, Derick Roberson of the DC Defenders, and Jordan Ta’amu of the DC Defenders.
Selected by a panel of media members, coaches, team personnel, and broadcast partners, the finalists represent the top performers from the UFL’s recently completed 10-game regular season.
Cam Gill Sets New UFL Sack Record
Louisville Kings edge rusher Cam Gill emerged as one of the most dominant defensive players in the league during the 2026 campaign.
Gill established a new UFL single-season record with 10 sacks while also leading the league with 12 tackles for loss. His disruptive play helped fuel Louisville’s turnaround season and played a major role in the Kings earning a postseason berth.
Gill finished the regular season with 39 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery while recording three multi-sack performances.
Jack Plummer Leads Orlando to No. 1 Seed
Orlando Storm quarterback Jack Plummer guided the league’s most productive passing offense and helped lead the Storm to an 8-2 record and the UFL’s top playoff seed.
Plummer led the league with:
- 2,188 passing yards
- 195 completions
- 17 passing touchdowns
- 2,377 total offensive yards
He also added three rushing touchdowns and threw just one interception all season, cementing his status as one of the league’s elite quarterbacks.
Derick Roberson Anchors DC Defense
DC Defenders defensive end Derick Roberson was one of the league’s most disruptive defenders throughout the regular season.
Roberson finished with:
- 7 sacks
- 9 tackles for loss
- 40 tackles
- 2 forced fumbles
His relentless pass rush helped power one of the UFL’s top defensive units and played a key role in the Defenders securing a playoff spot.
Jordan Ta’amu Delivers Another MVP-Caliber Season
Despite suffering a season-ending injury in Week 8, Jordan Ta’amu remained one of the UFL’s most productive offensive players.
The veteran quarterback finished the regular season with:
- 1,515 passing yards
- 14 passing touchdowns
- 196 rushing yards
- 4 rushing touchdowns
Ta’amu also earned Offensive Player of the Week honors twice during the season and helped keep the Defenders among the league’s top contenders before his injury.
MVP Winner to Be Announced Before United Bowl
The winner of the 2026 UFL Most Valuable Player Award will be announced during the UFL Awards presented by Dynasty Financial Partners on June 12.
The award ceremony is part of United Bowl week festivities leading up to the 2026 United Bowl, which will be played on June 13 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
UFL Playoffs Set to Begin
The MVP announcement comes as the UFL postseason gets underway, with Orlando, DC, St. Louis, and Louisville all competing for a chance to reach the United Bowl and capture the 2026 league championship.
