ASC New York to Host New York Cosmos in Exhibition Match on Long Island
American Soccer Club New York will host the iconic New York Cosmos in a special exhibition match on Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. ET at LaValle Stadium on the campus of Stony Brook University.
The matchup marks a major soccer event for Long Island and continues the growing partnership between ASC New York and the Cosmos.
ASC New York and Cosmos Strengthen Long Island Soccer Partnership
Earlier this year, ASC New York and the Cosmos announced a multi-year partnership focused on player development and creating a pathway for local players to reach the professional level.
As part of the agreement, the clubs will meet annually in an exhibition match on Long Island.
“The American Soccer Club New York is proud to bring this marquee exhibition match to Stony Brook University in partnership with the New York Cosmos,” said Managing Partner and General Manager Jim Kilmeade. “This is more than just a game—it’s a landmark moment for soccer on Long Island.”
New York Cosmos Return to Long Island
After a five-year hiatus, the Cosmos returned to competition this season in USL League One, playing home matches at Hinchliffe Stadium.
The exhibition will also feature a reunion storyline, as former Fighting Tomcats defender Will Noecker recently signed with the Cosmos, becoming the first ASC New York player to join the historic club.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to play against my former team,” said Noecker. “I know Coach Fitzgerald will have his group ready, so we’ll need to be prepared.”
Historic Return for Cosmos on Long Island
The match also marks another chapter in the Cosmos’ deep connection to Long Island soccer history.
The club previously played at Hofstra Stadium during the original NASL era in the early 1970s and later returned to Hofstra when the Cosmos relaunched in 2013.
“This is a great opportunity to play again in front of our fans on Long Island,” said Cosmos CEO Erik Stover.
Tickets Available Now
ASC New York season ticket holders will receive admission to the exhibition as part of their package. Individual and group tickets are now available through the club’s official website.
Kilmeade called the event “one of the biggest soccer matches in Suffolk County history,” highlighting the continued growth of the sport across Long Island.
ASC New York Continues 2026 Season
LaValle Stadium will also host ASC New York’s next regular season home match on May 16 against AC Newport as part of “Suffolk County Night.”
