San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd and Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers have been named the NFC Players of the Week for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.
Purdy earned Offensive Player of the Week after making NFL history in San Francisco’s victory over Miami, while Lloyd captured defensive honors following a dominant two-interception performance for Carolina. Rodgers earned the special teams award after making a crucial play in Minnesota’s win over Chicago.
Brock Purdy Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week
Purdy turned in a nearly flawless performance during the 49ers’ 35-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
The San Francisco quarterback completed 20 of 22 passes (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns, producing a 149.1 passer rating. He also added a rushing touchdown.
In the process, Purdy became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his passes, throw for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns and record a rushing touchdown in the same game.
It marks the third Offensive Player of the Week award of Purdy’s career. He previously received the honor in Week 11 of the 2023 season and Week 16 of 2025.
Purdy joins Hall of Famers Steve Young and Joe Montana as the only 49ers quarterbacks to win Offensive Player of the Week at least three times.
He is also the only former Iowa State player to earn multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards.
Devin Lloyd Earns NFC Defensive Player of the Week
Carolina linebacker Devin Lloyd filled the stat sheet during the Panthers’ 34-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Lloyd finished with nine tackles, three passes defensed, two tackles for loss and two interceptions, returning one of his picks 16 yards for a touchdown.
He became only the fifth linebacker since 1982, when the individual sack became an official NFL statistic, to record a sack and two interceptions — including a pick-six — in the same game.
This is the second Defensive Player of the Week award of Lloyd’s career and his first as a member of the Panthers. He previously earned the honor in Week 4 of the 2025 season with Jacksonville.
Lloyd becomes the eighth Panthers linebacker to win the award and the first since Frankie Luvu in Week 8 of the 2023 season.
He is also the first former Utah player to earn multiple Defensive Player of the Week awards.
Isaiah Rodgers Takes NFC Special Teams Honors
Minnesota cornerback Isaiah Rodgers made one of the biggest plays of the Vikings’ 9-3 victory over the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers blocked a field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter, helping Minnesota preserve its 6-3 advantage at the time.
It is the second Player of the Week honor of Rodgers’ career after he earned Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 3 of the 2025 season.
Rodgers also becomes the first defensive back in Vikings history to win Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Minnesota cornerback remains the only former University of Massachusetts player to earn an NFL Player of the Week award.
Purdy’s record-setting efficiency, Lloyd’s game-changing defensive performance and Rodgers’ crucial blocked kick highlighted three of the NFC’s top individual performances during Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.
