Brock Bowers, Talanoa Hufanga & Tyler Loop Win AFC Week 3 Honors

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, Denver Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga and Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop have been named the AFC Players of the Week for Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season.

Bowers earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Hufanga took home defensive honors and Loop was selected as the conference’s top special teams performer following games played September 24 and 27-28.

AFC Offensive Player of the Week: Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

Bowers delivered a huge performance in the Raiders’ 35-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints, recording 10 receptions for 116 yards and adding a fourth-quarter touchdown reception that helped secure the win.

His 116 receiving yards led all NFL tight ends in Week 3.

The performance also marked Bowers’ sixth career game with at least 10 receptions, the most by a tight end during his first three NFL seasons.

This is the first AFC Offensive Player of the Week award of Bowers’ career. He joins Mike Dyal, who earned the honor in Week 13 of the 1989 season, as the only Raiders tight ends to win the award.

Bowers also becomes the first former Georgia tight end to earn an Offensive Player of the Week honor.

AFC Defensive Player of the Week: Talanoa Hufanga, Denver Broncos

Hufanga put together a remarkable defensive performance for Denver, finishing with five tackles, three passes defensed, one sack and two interceptions.

One of those interceptions was returned 66 yards for a touchdown.

Hufanga made NFL history during the fourth quarter, becoming the first player since the individual sack became an official statistic in 1982 to record a sack and multiple interceptions — including an interception return of at least 50 yards for a touchdown — in a single quarter of a game.

It is the first Defensive Player of the Week award of Hufanga’s career.

He also becomes one of three Broncos safeties to earn the honor over the past 10 seasons, joining Kareem Jackson and Justin Simmons.

The former USC standout is the fourth Trojans safety since 2000 to win the award, joining Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu, Sammy Knight and Isaiah Pola-Mao.

AFC Special Teams Player of the Week: Tyler Loop, Baltimore Ravens

Loop came through when Baltimore needed him most in the Ravens’ 34-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Baltimore kicker converted both of his field-goal attempts, from 27 and 56 yards, and made all four of his extra-point attempts.

His biggest kick came as time expired, when Loop drilled a 56-yard game-winning field goal to give Baltimore the victory in the first-ever NFL regular-season game played in Rio de Janeiro.

It is the first Player of the Week award of Loop’s career.

Loop becomes the third Ravens kicker to receive the honor, joining Justin Tucker and Matt Stover, and the first Baltimore kicker to win it since 2021.

The former Arizona kicker also becomes the second player from the school at his position to earn a Special Teams Player of the Week award, joining Nick Folk.
