San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, New York Giants safety Jevón Holland and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Myles Price have been named the NFC Players of the Month for September following standout performances over the first three weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
OFFENSE: Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Purdy put together an outstanding opening month for San Francisco, completing 60 of 83 passes (72.3 percent) for 789 yards while accounting for 10 touchdowns — nine passing and one rushing — against only one interception.
The 49ers quarterback leads the NFL with a 133.1 passer rating and is tied for the league lead with nine touchdown passes. He is also the only quarterback to record multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100 or higher in each of the season’s first three weeks.
Purdy made NFL history in Week 2 when he completed 20 of 22 passes (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score. He became the first player in league history to complete at least 90 percent of his passes, throw for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns and score a rushing touchdown in the same game.
This is the first Player of the Month award of Purdy’s career. He joins Hall of Famers Steve Young and Joe Montana, along with Jeff Garcia, as 49ers quarterbacks to earn the honor.
Purdy is also the second former Iowa State player to win Offensive Player of the Month, joining David Archer.
DEFENSE: Jevón Holland, New York Giants
Holland emerged as one of the NFL’s top defensive playmakers during September, recording 12 tackles, four passes defensed, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
His three interceptions are tied for the league lead, and Holland is the only NFL player to record an interception in each of his team’s first three games this season.
Holland’s four takeaways are the most by a player through his team’s first three games since Marcus Peters recorded four for Kansas City in 2016.
He also became just the second player since 2000 to record at least three interceptions and two forced fumbles during his team’s opening three games, joining Kyle Fuller, who accomplished the feat with Chicago in 2014.
This marks Holland’s first Defensive Player of the Month award. He is the eighth Giants player to receive the honor and the first since Landon Collins in November 2016. Holland and Collins are the only Giants safeties to win the award.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Myles Price, Minnesota Vikings
Price dominated the NFL return-game statistics during September, leading the league with 353 kickoff return yards, 130 punt return yards and 483 total return yards.
His 483 return yards are the most by an NFL player through his team’s first three games since Josh Cribbs accumulated 488 return yards for Cleveland in 2007.
Price provided one of the month’s biggest special-teams plays in Week 3 when he returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown, helping Minnesota improve to 3-0.
He is the only NFL player with a punt-return touchdown this season and the first Vikings player to accomplish the feat since Marcus Sherels in 2016.
This is Price’s first Special Teams Player of the Month award. He joins Percy Harvin and Cordarrelle Patterson as Vikings wide receivers to earn the honor.
Price is also the third former Indiana player to capture a Player of the Month award, joining Courtney Roby and Pete Stoyanovich.
With Purdy leading an explosive San Francisco offense, Holland creating turnovers for the Giants and Price making an impact in Minnesota’s return game, the three standouts earned the NFC’s top monthly honors for September 2026.
