In this day and age of constant sedition, it is extremely important to one’s health that they find ways to stay active on a daily basis. Whether we are driving to the office on our daily two way commute, sitting in the office for eight hours a day staring at a computer screen, or sitting down in front of another screen for an average of three hours a day watching television, it is clear that our lives are pretty placid in terms of the physical activity we put ourselves through.

Technology has allowed us certain conveniences which are certainly useful, no doubt. Yet, we have come a long way from the days of hunting and gathering, large-scale subsistence agriculture, as well as procreating for the survival of the species, all activities which would have been necessary and would have killed carbs by the thousands.

Given these facts, let us take a look at ways to work on your body every day, and make it a more sustainable daily practice as opposed to another gruelling routine that you dread.

Make Exercise Fun

If you happen to be one of those people who do get to the gym regularly to work on chiselling your way to a classic physique, congrats. For the other 90% of us, one way to encourage this good behaviour is to find ways to make it more enjoyable. You could leverage technology by downloading your favourite podcasts or pump up music to get you going, just as you could play casinos online while you aren’t doing anything with your hands on the aforementioned elliptical machine, or stationary bike. Looking for ways to build in a bit more exercise is easy when you do things like park away from your destination to force you to walk for five minutes to and from your car, or avoid the elevator so you have to walk up a couple of storeys. You may be a bit sweaty and dishevelled for it, but leave your ego at the door, freshen up in the bathroom, and know that incorporating exercise into your routine is good for you.

Eat Well

Muscle tone is half exercise, half diet. So while not necessarily a ‘way to work on your muscles,’ develop good eating habits by avoiding things like fried foods, which contain higher amounts of trans fats. If this sounds like a foreign language to you, then take the opportunity to read up on diets that contain the right proportion of protein, carbs, and fats, and just learn about how to eat healthy and deliciously in general. How Does Cymbalta Duloxetine Work?

Contraindications, Precautions, and Interactions

Cymbalta is contraindicated in patients who have severe liver or kidney damage, as administration in these patients can lead to a significant increase in blood levels and serious adverse effects.

Simultaneous administration with drugs that inhibit monoamine oxidase (so-called MAO inhibitors) is strictly contraindicated due to the possible occurrence of serotonin syndrome. The most common MAO inhibitors are Isocarboxazid, Tranylcipromine, Moclobemide, Phenelzine (used to treat depression), Selegiline, Rasagiline (used to treat Parkinson’s disease), and Linezolid (an antibiotic used to treat many bacterial infections).If you have used any of the MAO inhibitors, you must wait for at least two weeks before you start taking Cymbalta.

Serotonin syndrome is a potentially dangerous, life-threatening condition. It occurs when too much serotonin is accumulated in your body. Accumulated serotonin affects the muscles, heart, brain and other organs. Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include muscle stiffness, diarrhea, confusion, irritability, disorientation, hallucinations, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate and, in severe cases, convulsions and coma.

Simultaneous administration of Cymbalta with a medicine called Fluvoxamine (a medicine used to treat depression, anxiety, and social phobia) is contraindicated. Fluvoxamine is a potent inhibitor of CYP1A2 enzyme (the enzyme through which Cymbalta is metabolized), and concomitant use may lead to an increase in Duloxetineblood levels (up to 6 times), which significantly increases the risk of side effects, including serotonin syndrome.

Concomitant use with antibiotics, such as Ciprofloxacin and Enoxacin, is also absolutely contraindicated as it increases the risk of serotonin syndrome.

Cymbalta should not be used concurrently with the following medicines because of the potential risk of serotonin syndrome:

  • Dextromethorphan – amedicine used to treat cough.
  • 5-hydroxytryptophan – a medicine used to treat obesity.
  • Opioid analgesics, such asFentanyl, Tramadol, Pentazocine, Propoxyphene, Alfentanil.
  • Tricyclic antidepressants, such as Doxepin, Amoxapine, Imipramine, Amitriptyline, Desimipramine, and Notriptylin.
  • Triptans– medicines used to treat migraine, such as Frovatriptan, Eletriptan, Almotriptan, Naratriptan, Sumatriptan and Rizatriptan.
  • Ergotamine – a medicine used to treat migraine.
  • Sertraline, Paroxetine, and Fluoxetine – medicines used to treat depression, social phobia and anxiety.
  • Buspirone– a medicine used to treat anxiety.
  • Phentermine and Fenfluramine– medicines used to treat obesity.
  • Amphetamine– a medicine used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in children and narcolepsy.
  • Phenylpropanolamine – a medicine used to treat nasal congestion.
  • Cyclobenzaprine – a medicine used to relax muscles.

In addition, Cymbalta should not be administered concurrently with any of the following drugs:

  • Teriflunomide– a medicine used to treat relapsed forms of multiple sclerosis. Simultaneous administration increases the risk of liver damage.
  • Brexpiprazole– a medicine used to treat schizophrenia. Simultaneous administration increases the concentration of this drug in the blood, which increases the risk of low blood pressure and seizures.
  • Bupropion – a medicine used to treat severe depression and to help people quit smoking. Simultaneous administration increases the risk of seizures.
  • Panobinostat– a medicine used to treat cancers. Simultaneous administration increases the risk of bleeding.

Due to the large number of drugs that Cymbalta interacts with and the potential for serious toxic effects, it is very important that you inform your physician about all the medicines you are taking, including herbal remedies.

Dosage Instructions

Cymbalta comes in the form of capsules, at doses of 20, 30 and 60 mg.

Severe depressive episodes

The starting dose is 60mg once a day. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 120mg per day, depending on the clinical effect. The therapeutic effect is achieved after 2-4 weeks of starting therapy.

Generalized anxiety disorder

The starting dose is 30mg once a day. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 120mg per day.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy

The starting dose is 60mg once a day. The dosage may be increased to 120mg daily. If no effect is achieved after 2 months of therapy, the therapy should be discontinued.

Fibromyalgia&Chronic musculoskeletal pain

Therapy should start at a dose of 30mg once a day, for 7 days. After that, the dosage should be increased to 60mg once a day.

The capsule should be taken with aglass of water, regardless of the meal. Make sure you take Cymbalta capsules at the same time of day.

Sudden discontinuation of therapy should be avoided, as withdrawal symptoms may occur (suicidal thoughts, nightmares, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, agitation, hypomania, seizures, involuntary crying or laughing, paranoia, confusion and insomnia). Therefore, when discontinuing Cymbalta, the dosage should be gradually reduced over a period of 7-14 days in order to reduce the risk of withdrawal symptoms.

Side Effects

Very common side effects (occurring in more than 10% of patients) include:

  • Headache
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth

Common side effects (occurring in 1-10% of patients) include:

  • Decreased appetite

On the Go Towels – After the Gym, Work or Even Sex

Writing an article in the first person is akin to blasphemy in my opinion as a journalist, but I felt the need to make an exception here. Turn back the calendar a few months when Joe Gillis and I conferred via telephone about the possibility of his company  – On the Go Towels – advertising with MuscleSport Magazine.

In our sales pitch to him, Gillis was adamant about one thing – he wanted a truthful and cut-to-the-chase product review as part of his advertising package, even if it was of the negative variety. He was given a promise that would certainly be the case and he would not receive one of those bag of shit redundant reviews that one would see in Muscular Development or FLEX.

We were sent a large package of On the Go Towels in all four varieties (Revive, Unscented, Shower Refresh and Citrus Refresh for their Sports and Cleansing Towels) and had no idea what to think judging by the small size and packaging of the product. They almost look reminiscent of the old Wash N Dry disposable hand towels that mothers carry in their purses to clean junior’s grubby hands before he stuffs his fat face.

But I have a confession to make. The first time that I had the opportunity to use On the Go Towels was not following a grueling workout, long jog or even a hard day at work. No, it was after having sex with my wife on a drunken Saturday night.

Food for thought: It’s a bad idea to not clean up after dropping a load. Remnants of bodily fluids (yours and your partners) should be cleaned off before crashing out. But who the fuck feels like jumping in the shower after fucking, especially when it’s late at night and you have a few in you?

So I decided it was the perfect scenario to give Gillis’s product a try. When I tore open the package and began to unfold the product, it felt like a real towel (albeit a thin one, but we’re talking about a disposable item here, mind you) and not a damp napkin like many other wipes out there. And therein lies the difference – this is a towel (with the same texture as one) and not a wipe. 

I cleaned up all of my nooks and crannies and felt like a million bucks. Went to sleep and woke up still feeling fresh down there, ready to go for Round Two. Unfortunately after being married for over 20 years, the missus wasn’t in the same mood as I was. Sex drive differences, for sure.

The following day, I figured that I would use On the Go Towels for their real purpose and that was cleaning myself up after the gym. I needed to make a few quick stops on the way home and didn’t want to smell like a bag of assholes while waiting on the post office line.
